ARTIST INFORMATION
Dinning was born in Detroit, Michigan (U.S.A.). Educated at Wayne State University, she earned a B.F.A., and later attended Penland School of Crafts, the American School for Neon, the New York Experimental Glass Workshop (now Urbanglass), and the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass.

Initially making the decision to leave the city and head for northern Michigan, she also left what had been her craft. The theater, with limitless areas of satisfaction for the
creative person, was her life and outlet of artistic expression. She specialized in lighting, sound, and scenic design. Unfortunately, the city's drawbacks outweighed
opportunities.

As soon as she settled in the area, Lynn began designing wearable metal objects and fiber garments, accumulating the necessary equipment to begin producing her
designs in precious metals and in fiber. In 1982, change again knocked on the door with the opportunity to try glassblowing in North Carolina. From the first bubble, she
knew this was what she wanted to do.

Her work shows an unadorned simplicity of design which gives strength and precision to each piece. All are a reflection of the lifestyle Lynn has carved out for herself
on a hillside in the northern woodlands. Her work has appeared in juried shows, selected group and solo exhibitions and resides in collections, including the White House,
throughout the United States and abroad.

When Lynn isn't blowing glass, she is a professional ski instructor and has been named one of the 100 Top Instructors by "SKI Magazine".
