MISSION

Welcome to ArtistsNorth.com, an on-line Northern Michigan Artists' Directory. The spirit of this web site is to help promote and empower our community of fine artists and craftsmen while providing a contact point between artist and patron.  The focus is on the individual artist/craftsman or small studio that creates his or her work in the traditional sense, one that could not be confused as a mass producer or manufacturer.  

If you are an artist or craftsman working in traditional techniques creating original art, this is a great opportunity to work together as a community and to help promote each other. 

MISSION STATEMENT:

The ArtistsNorth.com web site was originated to establish a community among Northern Michigan fine artists and to introduce real, present day art to more of Northern Michigan and beyond. The artists who show in this space are dedicated to creating quality original art and sharing a higher level of perception. 

JURIED CATAGORIES:

Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Basketry, Ceramics (no commercial molds), Fiber (decorative and wearable), Furniture, Glass, Jewelry (precious and semi-precious), Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Paper, Wood, Photography (darkroom or digital images printed by the artist only)

PARTICIPATION & FEES:

  • Small one page web site:  $100.00 fee for the first year.  After that, $20.00 per page annually to maintain the site.  Update of images may be made four at a time for $20.00; text is free if supplied digitally.   Roughly 300 words are allowed for the artist's statement (excluding show schedule and gallery list).  If not supplied digitally, there is an additional $10.00 typing fee. If you need assistance in preparing your text you may contact for a nominal fee. NOTE: Please put "ArtistsNorth.com"in the subject line of your email.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A ONE PAGE SITE:
Send by mail or email:

  • Four digital images  

  • Proofed text of approximately 300 words    

  • Shows, exhibit schedule or list of galleries that carry your work  

  • Contact information. 

If by U.S. mail please provide a SASE with enough return postage for return of your materials. 

If by email, provide jpg files sized at 500 pixels width at 72 dpi. Text can be in plain text or by word document as an attachment.
